While my sister and her family were here, the rest of the heard came for a visit. First my other sister, Shirlee, and her husband, Dusty, came to visit. Just a few days after that my parents and my little brother, David, came. We had a wonderful time together. We ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Mike's Farm...this place is a wonderful place in our community. They serve a family style supper on the weekends of traditional southern food. It is a charming atmosphere and during the seasons they offer strawberry picking, pumpkin patches, haunted hay rides, Christmas tree farms, Christmas light displays, and always good food. If any of you have visited I'm sure you have seen the place.
The family all fat & happy after a wonderful meal.

We found a chair just Garrett's size.
Relaxing on the porch in a rocking chair, it doesn't get much better than this.
We also had the opportuniy to visit Atlantic Beach. Dusty and Shirlee took the opportunity to go scuba diving in Morehead City so we all went with them to spend a day on the beach. It was a wonderful day, not too hot and not too windy. We played in the warm water and made lots of sand mountains with Owen. It reminded me of our many family vacations to the beach as a child, except his time the water was warm enough to swim in!
Lunch on the beach and a place to get out of the sun.
The water was so warm, even Garrett and Owen enjoyed it.
Owen buidling his sand mouintains, he could have done this all day!
Our last excursion we went on was a trip to the base. My family wanted to see where Marcus and I work. There is a beautiful memorial on the base with some of the older models of helicopters. Owen was in heaven with he "big helicopters". The excitment on his facce was enough to make the whole trip worth it!
The MCAS New River Helicopter Memorial.
Owen loved to look, but just couldn't get close enough.
A little boys dream...To touch the big helicopters!
