Happy Independence Day

We had an awesome 4th of July this year. We started the day with a big pancake breakfast at church and a flag raising ceremony by the boy scouts. It was a lovey morning, the sun was shining our bellies were full and the kiddos were having fun playing. Our plans for the rest of the day were to head out to Sam and Lissy's for a fun day of playing outside, eating yummy food and treats, tin foil dinners, camp fires, smore's, and fireworks.

Lissy had her house all dec'd out in festive red, white, and blue. It was so nice and the flag was just the right touch. Her home is so inviting, don't those re chairs just say, "come, sit down, and drink something cold~"

Ate festive treats, this cake was my creation and is tasted as good as it looked. Shirlee also made this incredible carrot cheesecake, it was a copy cat recipe from the Cheesecake Factory and it was soooo good!

We had tin foil dinners for dinner and they were a big hit all around

We also had a bon fire with smore's and roasted Starbursts. The Starbursts were not all they were cracked up to be, but the smore's were divine. Once it got dark enough the boys started the fire works and between all three dads we had quite the show. The kids loved watching the dads light the fuse and then they would run away and wait for the lights. It was great, it was the perfect way to celebrate our nations freedom. I am so grateful to live in this beautiful land and I am grateful for those who fought for my freedom, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
