Every child should fly a kite

For family home evening we decided to go to the beach. The wind was just right for flying kites and Marcus has been wanting to teach Garrett how to fly a kite for along time. This is something that every kid should get to do at least once in their life. We got there during daylight, the breeze was warm, and the air just right. After playing for a while the sun started setting and I got some amazing shots of the sunset and some beautiful silhouettes of my boys.

Garrett loved flying his kite. He calls his kite his rocket ship. I loved watching him. It brought back fond memories of spending time on the Washington Coast with my Grandpa Poe. He loved the beach and up there it is always good kite-flying weather. I am so grateful to be living here where my kids can make so many memories. That is one good thing about being in the military. We may have to move a lot, but think of the things we have gotten to experience that we may not have gotten to had we not lived in certain areas.
