We woke up today to a beautiful blue sky and nothing on the agenda. There was a yard sale going on down the street so we thought we would check it out. We loaded the kiddos into the bike trailer and headed out. This was Eli's first experience in the trailer and he did remarkably well. Garrett was happy to keep his eye on him and put his paci back in when Eli spit it out. After a few minutes Eli was peacefully asleep and Garrett was just along for the ride. When we bought this trailer this is what I had in mind. There was not a whole lot to offer at the yard sale, but while we were there we decided to ride to the beach.
Marcus had never been to the Pacific Coast. I have been telling him for years that it was different, but it is hard to wrap your head around it if you have never seen it or experienced it. He loved it. He did not love that the water was chilly, but he did love the size of the waves. They were even bigger today as there was a surf advisory (6~9' waves). Garrett was in beach heaven. We did not go prepared with swim suit and sand toys, but he made the most of it. He jumped the waves and played in the sand. Eli liked it, the sound of the waves were very soothing to him. Combine the waves and the Ergo and that kid was in baby paradise. I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time at the beach in the coming years.
After spending the morning at the beach, we got home and Marcus decided to wash my van. The whole front was covered in bugs from the drive down here. I know this sounds funny, but he was so excited to wash the car. In Philly we always had to use the car wash. There was no water hook up at our apt. and there are no self wash places. So these are the little luxuries we missed. It is nice to have a house and a driveway and our own water source. Garrett got to help and now, thanks to my boys, my van looks good as new. There is something so refreshing about a clean car.
