Let's have a party!!

We went back and forth about what to do for Eli's party. Do we go all out? Do we just do it as a family? We went somewhere in between. We invited some of our close friends over for a little water fun, dinner, and cupcakes. It really was the perfect day and the perfect party for my little boy.

Eli's special day started the minute he woke up. I think a kids birthday should be a special day from morning till night. Eli wore his crown almost all day and surprisingly he kept it on without complaints. What a cute little birthday boy.

The little kiddos at the party got to play in the pool while the big kids did the slip-n-slide. Eli loves water and he loves to splash...the kid can wreck a bathroom with just two inches of water.

I made cupcakes for the occasion. They were simple and they tasted great.

It took him a minute to figure out he could just dig in. He didn't want to taste the frosting, but once I forced it into his mouth, there was no stopping him. He enjoyed every last bite.

Last but not least, there were presents. He got some cool toys from his guests. And in tradition, from Mom and Dad, Eli got his radio flyer scooter. This was Garrett's and it has been packed up to bring out on this beloved first birthday. He seemed to like it and once he gets the hang of it, he will be following his big brother all over creation.
