Now that Garrett is a toddler I feel like I don't post updates on him any more. When someone asks how old he is it is in years or half years, not in months. So I feel like the milestones get less and less. So here is an update:
- He is two and a half (or 2 years and 9 months to be specific)
- He is precocious and sweet all at the same time
- He is witty and charming and can get on your last nerve and melt your heart in the same breath
- He is talking up a storm, he makes up stories, recalls previous events, and has full out conversations with you (most of time you can understand him)
- He is still a good eater and is actually eating veggies, cooked and raw, again :)
- He is still a great sleeper although naps are getting to be more and more of a struggle, but once he is down he still falls right to sleep, thank goodness bedtime is not a fight
- His imagination is blooming like the spring, he pretends all the time and he love to play make believe
- He loves to play with "you" he actually will play with his friends and not just next to them, and he is actually very good at sharing and taking turns
- He likes to help mommy and daddy with all sorts of odd jobs around the house and one of the best cures for boredom is "real work", helping mom cook or taking the trash out with daddy, sorting laundry or putting dishes away...never to early to start earning your keep
- He is loving swimming lessons and is really into balls lately
- He loves to be outside, rain or shine. In fact he wore out a pair of rain boots this winter playing outside so much
- He is growing spiritually already. He is learning scripture stories , and loves to talk about the temple, he loves to see and recognize pictures of the prophet. He loves church and he loves to sing his primary songs
- He is getting closer and closer to being fully potty trained. He has not been in diapers for quite sometime but he has good days and bad days so we just keep a lot of extra pants and underpants on hand.
- With all the wonderful things I just said about my son, he is still two and he is stubborn as a mule. In fact as I write this post he is up in his room screaming because he is in time out!!
Ah, the sweet balance of life and motherhood...
